The Institute for Africa and Middle East
Studies (IAMES) is a research organization established by the Degree
No.26/ND–CP dated 15 Jannuary 2004 of the Vietnamese Government. IAMES
operates in accordance with the Decision No.320/QD–KHXH dated 11
March 2005 of the President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS)
stipulating functions, tasks, legal rights and organizational structure of the
Institute for
Africa and Middle East Studies. IAMES
is assigned the task of carrying out research on basic issues of the African
and Middle Eastern region and providing scientific arguments to the
policy-making process of Vietnamese government. IAMES stands out as
Vietnam’s only research institute
focusing on African and Middle Eastern issues and to sustain this reputation, IAMES
invests considerable efforts in research and innovation as part of an ongoing
mission to advance national knowledge about African and Middle Eastern
countries.
