Vietnam – Egypt relations are attached much importance as
this is a long-standing traditional friendship
established officially since 1964 and promoted strongly since 1991 when Egypt
implemented its overall economic reform. In the context of the recent “Arab
Spring” revolution, Egypt
now gets on a transitional period that hopefully would lead the country to a
much brighter future. In spite of the fact that the Egyptian domestic and
foreign policies haven’t yet been clarified after the former president
Mubarak’s resign, the interim government confirms that their overall strategy
in promoting relations with Asian countries will not change and Vietnam is
among Asian countries that maintain close relations with Egypt.
