The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry on November 24
th
worked with the Economic and Trade Department of the Israeli Embassy to
hold a forum for Vietnam-Israel businesses in Hanoi on the occasion of
the visit of the Israeli President Shimon Peres to Vietnam.
The
forum, attended by Deputy-Prime Minister, Hoang Trung Hai, and Israeli
President Peres, attracted the participation of 150 Vietnamese
businesses and 60 leading businesses from Israel operating in fields of
national defense industry, information technology, communication, water,
healthcare, food-processing and fashion, all of whom came to Vietnam to
seek cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese businesses.

between Vietnam and Israel over the past years and believed in its
future further development. The Israeli President stressed that a
country alone can not cope with problems such as the global economic
crisis and climate change and that it should join hands with other
countries.
For
his part, the Deputy-Prime Minister praised Israel’s dramatic economic
development and pointed out Vietnam’s shortcomings in economic
development and hoped that the cooperation among businesses from the two
countries will promote the management abilities of the Vietnamese
side and the application of high technology in Vietnam.
Also
on the occasion, VCCI and the Federation of Israel Economic
Organisations and the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce
signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a new step of development
in the cooperation between Vietnamese and Israeli businesses.
